Your Late Tok Abah

You did not get the chance to meet him.
You did not get the chance to hear him.
You did not know about him.
Until you saw his pic in our wedding photo.
You asked once, 'who is he?'
Upon finding out the answer, you asked 'Where is he? Why can't I meet him like I meet Wan?'

That 2010's Eidul Fitri morning was the first time when I believe you really understood who Tok Abah was, and how much he means to all of us. That morning, you cited for him Al-Fatihah.

Keep on citing, my darling ya. Whenever he crosses your mind. Everytime you say your prayer after solah. And before you sleep every night. As much as Wan loves you today, you know Tok Abah would have loved you no less. And you would love him too. And remember what is the best gift we can give to him? the first Surah you know. Al-Fatihah.

I love you darling. You've always made me proud.

Aliya, Opah & Wan mengait rambutan

Sedapkan rambutan Opah :)

~ My big baby girl ~

Best, kan balik umah Opah?

Tak puas sangat rasanya... Apakan daya.. Cuti di tengah2 minggu. Selasa balik Mersing, then kita kena ikut ateh balik KL on thursday.

Itupun kat play area je, sebab dah nak balik sangat dah ni. The day before hujan pulak so tak dapat mandi pantai. Tak ada rezeki kita lah tu ye sayang. Takpe, next time kita balik lagi okay. Maybe raye ke??

Mama ada amik banyak gambar Aliya dgn Adnin, Am, Iesya dgn Wan dan Opah jugak. Ada mama letak kat dalam web album. Link: macam biasa, kat bawah tu okay. We'll see okay :-)

Tok Ma Fell Sick

The first week of Ramadhan, we were supposed to go back to Mersing to celebrate the holy month with my family. But you caught a flu, and the doctor advised you to stay away from people at least until Saturday. So I asked Wan to postpone the event till the next Saturday. Early Saturday morning, Abah upon knowing that Tok Ma was suffering from stress till her eyes got swollen, decided to bring us all back to KB that very day.

We got there just about time to break the fast. She was okay when we got there. She already went to see the doc and so her eyes were better. Everything was fine until Sunday afternoon, when she fell really2 sick. Abah took her to the GH and the doc ruled out swine flu. So she was prescribed only with the regular medications for flu. But she could barely get up and her conditions were very2 unstable. Her fever subsided and but then rose again. She got very2 weak. Abah took her to a clinic and the doc said that the glucose level in her blood was very high. She has been diabetic for quite sometime now.

But the doc's medication didnt help much. A couple of days later, she had a high fever again, so we took her to KBMC (against her will), where Abah insisted for her to be admitted. The doc there found that that apart from the high sugar, she was also suffering from lung infection.

We were lucky we got there in time. As soon as she was placed in bed, she started shaking so bad due to the infection. They immediately gave her antibiotics, vitamins and pints of water.

She got better, and was discharged 4 days later.

It was the first time I see her in a condition where she was ... so not like her. Spiritless and weak... saying many2 times that it was her time to be with her husband. We were so worried.

Alhamdulillah. She's okay now. Although the day she was discharged she could not stand, or walk - was sleeping most of the time, ate nothing and even if she tried, they'd all come right out a few moments later. Today, when spoke over the phone, she sounded better, stronger.

She sounded like her again.

There are things that learned during the experience. Apart from the medical parts like diabetic condition could get worse if you eat too much or too little, and that local fruits like banana's are a big no-no for diabetic, there are also things like family values and,
your values.

There was one time when you had to stay behind with me to be with Tok Ma. You were such a good girl. Any other kids i know would already threw tantrums for not being able to go anywhere thats fun, didnt get to drink your milk, and had to sit 6 hours on the sofa. But you were fine. You walked around the room, exploring the rooms, watching intently the nurses as they tend to Tok Ma, asking questions to understand things that you see, and doing stuffs without bugging Tok Ma or even me.

Tok Ma was proud of you. And you made abah and every uncle and aunty of yours proud.
And so beyond words, you made me proud. You always do.

And that's why darling, I love you so...

The Ever Wonderful. The Grands.

These are Opah's brothers. The one with only kain pelekat (below) is Tok Teh Din. His Wife is Nenek Teh Rose. They have been my favourite since i was little.

The other one, the one with his hand in bandage is Opah's eldest brother. My Pak Long. Him and his wife, mak long were like your ibu and me's other parents when we were little. We once were left under their care for a long time during school holiday. Your ibu and i were very little at that time. I think i was about your age. But i have only fond memories of them.

tok teh din and you

My darling Aliya, these are among the many beautiful moments you've spent with the grands... They've loved your company, and always look forward to spending time with you. What goes without saying, is that they love you even more.
